Mushroom Compost has Many Uses

Fresh mushroom compost applied to soil or incorporated into soil has many benefits: improves soil structure, provides plant nutrients, increases plant nutrient availability, increases soil microbial populations, increases soil cation exchange capacity, increases plant root structure, increases soil aeration, improves soil water status, and reduces soil compaction. Fresh mushroom compost is a viable “green” product as an organic soil amendment and fertilizer for crop production systems and other land management issues. 

Some common applications include the following

Landscaping Used as a fertilizer for lawn care and landscaping, it supports plant growth and inhibits artillery fungus.

Corn Crop Uses Mushroom Compost supports growth in a variety of plants such as corn, pumpkin, tomato and potato yields.

Grass Hay Field Uses Mushroom Compost supports growth of mulch hays from orchard grass, tall fescue and brome grass.

#

Artillery Fungus Prevention Mushroom Compost inhibits growth of artillery fungus, a serious problem in landscape mulch.
